Merry Christmas
I had an amazing time at the Leadership Santa Rosa Christmas clipartOrientation yesterday last week. As a 2003 graduate of Leadership Okaloosa I was excited to step in and take on this course in the county that I grew up in and now make my home. I thought the highlight of my day was the incredibly inspiring speech that Dr. Judy Bense (UWF President) gave. Don't get me wrong it was great, but as a marketing person I must tell you that a lapel button actually topped my list. Yes, a button. No, I am not crazy. Want to know what it said? "It's Okay To Tell Me Merry Christmas." I loved it. With all of the nonsense about taking prayer out of this and out of that I am completely offended when someone takes the "Christ" out of "Christmas."

I am a Christian and in my faith we celebrate this holiday because of Christ. I don't begrudge those who celebrate wonderful holidays like Hanukah or Kwanza. I am happy to say "Happy Hanukah" or acknowledge anyone's religious or cultural holiday. So, consider this my official badge of honor because I welcome the phrase "Merry Christmas". I love hearing it because it reminds me each time of what we are celebrating.

I truly hope that you have the opportunity to spend time with your loved ones during this wonderful time of year.  The staff and I wish you nothing but a joyous Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

Best Regards,
Sabrina McLaughlin

Christmas party 2009

With punchy mottos like "playing it safe is for sissies," did you really expect us to have a normal company Christmas party?

We're always looking for new ways to do things so why not use a Christmas party as yet another way to showcase our flare for imaginative thinking. This year Insight held it's Christmas celebration with a private cooking class held at Kitchenique's new Destin location.

This year's Christmas party gave us a chance to get together and enjoy the fellowship and familiarity of all having one common interest: food (and great marketing communication skills, of course). Whether omnivore or herbivore, all of our eyes lit up as we watched Chef Vicki McCain prepare our decadent dishes. Not only did we get to enjoy a delicious meal in good company, we also learned practical lessons food in preparation. I can't wait to see how we top it next year!

She continued on to Florida State University's graduate program focusing on Corporate and Public Communication. She received her Master's degree in the fall of 2009, graduating with distinction.

Lara will be our Avant-Garde Analyst focusing her talent on marketing research projects as well as communication audits for clients. In addition, we have even bigger plans for Lara.  Stay tuned for another major announcement from Insight in January!

Last month we announced our "Season's Tweetings" drawing  for our Twitter followers. For each new follower, we vowed to donated a canned food item to the Bay Area Food Bank.

Due to the overwhelming success of this venture and after discussing our project with the Director of the Bay Area Food Bank, we've decided to go above and beyond our original intentions by sponsoring a child for Project Backpack. This program sends children in need home with food necessary to sustain them during the weekend when school-provided meals are not supplied.

This project is in great need of support so we've decided to extend our promotion to the end of January. If we continue to gain new Twitter followers, we will sponsor another child for Project Backpack.

We also offered a grand prize to one lucky follower of our Twitter account. Congratulations to the winner of a $50 Best Buy gift card.... Townsend_1552.
