Just a reminder that the United Way of Anderson County invites you to the Awards Celebration and Annual Meeting on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at the Doubletree Hotel in Oak Ridge.  Enjoy a delicious complimentary buffet-style breakfast and help celebrate the 2010-2011 Annual Campaign and learn about great things that are happening at UWAC. 

UWAC, along with our valuable partner agencies could not do what we do without your support. You are our superheros! Come and celebrate!

CASA of the Tennessee Heartland is having it's first "Light of Hope Awareness Walk" (appropriate for all levels of fitness) April 9th at 6pm at the Oak Ridge Civic Center.

Registration is $25 and all participants registered in advance will receive a "Light of Hope" t-shirt. There is a link to the registration page on our website - www.casatnh.org.

We are hoping that through this evening, we can show the community the difference it can make in the precious lives of innocent children to have a CASA. A voice of hope.

CASA is currently providing advocates to half of the children who have been referred to us through the Anderson and Scott County Courts. Our hope and desire is that at some point we will be able to provide a voice and hope to every child who needs on in our counties.

A CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) can be the difference between a child being left in the system, forgotten and being placed in a safe, permanent and loving home with a forever family. The Arc - Anderson County will be hosting the annual Spring Fling Dance on Friday, April 15^th  from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm in the gymnasium of the former Daniel Arthur Rehabilitation Center located at 728 Emory Valley Road in Oak Ridge.
