Greetings!
|
Mission Viejo, CA December 26, 2009
I can't believe that 2009 has almost come to an end and 2010 is quickly coming upon us. I wanted to take a moment to say thank you to each of you. Over the course of this last year, you have made me a better person as our paths have crossed and for that I am grateful. I pray that 2010 will be a year of exciting possibilities for you and that our Lord may shine His face upon you and give you peace.
This has been a year of growth for NCCD in so many different ways. As we close out 2009, I would ask that you please consider keeping NCCD in your thoughts and prayers as we seek to be of service to our local communities and nation. I would especially ask that you keep our latest endeavor with Living Shield Ministries and the Riverside District Attorney's Office Division of Victim Services in your prayers.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is currently under review for signature by the District Attorney with an expected signature in January 2010. We are also involved in ongoing meeting for the development of working protocols to provide an exemplary, best practice, model for community based chaplain services within the Family Justice Center under the Division of Victim Services (DVS). This model will provide ongoing support to the staff of DVS and to victims of crime. It is the desire intent of this joint collaboration to develop a model program which can be emulated throughout California, beginning first in Riverside and then in Orange County, CA.
As you might be thinking, this is not something that you normally would expect to see happening...chaplains working in and with the government? For more information on how this can be please reference our article on the Constitution and Chaplaincy.
Please keep us in your thoughts & prayers that we may develop an exemplary best practice model that is honoring and of service to those that are suffering loss & trauma through victimization and that we might be of tremendous service to the District Attorney's Division of Victim Services.
Otherwise, please send us your prayer requests so we can hold you and your family up & see you in 2010! May God's rich blessings be upon you and your family. Be safe.
". . . you shall love the Lord your God with all of your heart, with all your soul and with all you might" -Deuteronomy 6:5-
