Incline Chart - Incline standards are:

• 1" rise = 12" ramp (4.8o) - recommended for unassisted manual wheelchair users
• 2" rise = 12" ramp (9.5o) - recommended for assisted mobility only - check manufacturers' standards for maximum inclines for power mobility - many are 7 degrees

Wooden Ramps are an aesthetically pleasing solution for moderate or longer term access. They are comparable to aluminum ramps in cost, but become more economical than modular ramps for longer lengths. SelfCare works with a trusted contractor to provide wooden ramps as an alternative. 

A Porch lift (or vertical lift) is an economical residential lift for outdoor use as a  space saving alternative to modular ramping. Attractively styled, it offers simple, reliable controls for easy access to homes. A very rough estimate for a porch lift is between $10,000 and $13,000.
