Last Friday, a group of students and community members gathered in a candlelight vigil to symbolically mourn the death of higher education. The vigil was in response to the 32 percent tuition fee increase approved by the UC Regents the day before.

WORLD AIDS DAY World AIDS Day will be recognized by the University
of California, San Diego with a number of events and programs,
including a public viewing of portions of the AIDS Memorial Quilt in
the Price Center East Ballroom from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, December
1, 2009. The event is free and open to the public. The
UC San Diego display will showcase three sections of the Quilt that
have emerged from San Diego organizations and individuals as they have
responded to the AIDS crisis, from the early years of the epidemic
through the present day. The AIDS Memorial Quilt is a powerful tool
for use in preventing new HIV infections, and the largest ongoing

Finals got you stressed? Furloughs got your frustrated?
How about neither and you just want to box!
Ernesto Martinez, boxing instructor and former professional boxer, will
be here to teach a boxing class Thursday December 3rd, 12pm at the Cross-Cultural
Center. Comfortable clothing or gym
attire highly recommended. Equipment
will be provided, however, if you have wraps or gloves, feel free to bring
them. The class size is limited to 15,
so grab your spot by emailing Violeta. Please come a few minutes early for
preparation. No prior boxing experience necessary.
