loveforgive  UCSD Cross-Cultural Center and the UCSD Faculty and Staff
  Assistance Program (FSAP) are pleased to co-host a dynamic   
  series of thought-provoking discussions on the topics of love and
  forgiveness. The 8-week series will begin on September 30, 2009
  and is sponsored by: The Cross-Cultural Center, UJIMA,
  Pan-Asian Staff Association, and Black Staff Association.  All staff
  and faculty are welcome.  This is not a counseling group and
  disclosure of personal information will not be required. For more

DIVERSIFYING THE FACULTY FOR THE NEXT GENERATION: AN URGENT IMPERATIVE
Daryl G. Smith Professor of Education and Psychology Claremont Graduate University
Diversity  Cross-Cultural Center. Tues, Oct 6. 4pm
  Dr. Smith has been a Co-PI on a major project for the James Irvine Foundation
  to evaluate the impact of the Campus Diversity Initiative, a six-year $29 million
  effort funded that involved 28 private colleges and universities in California to
  increase access and success of historically underrepresented and low income
  students and to build institutional capacity to develop and evaluate diversity
  efforts.  Dr. Smith as conducted research on faculty hiring including influential
  articles such as Interrupting the Usual: Successful Strategies for Diversifying
  the Faculty, with Turner, Osei-Kofi, Richards, 2004) andThe Revolving Door for
  Underrepresented Minority Faculty in Higher Education.

DECOLONIZING IDENTITIES IN MENTAL HEALTH

Dr. Larry Emerson is a visiting professor and consultant for Native American Scholars and Collaborators at San Diego State University. Professor Emerson has been an active lecturer and provided a wealth of services to urban foundations and Indigenous Nations. Professor Emerson's research articulates: "decolonized notions of Diné education" by describing "Diné patterns of resistance to colonialism through the active engagement and advocacy of Diné non-modern, traditional thought and identity."

CA NATIVE DAY  Would you like to receive an additional $1,000 to help fund
  your next program or event? If you are part of a UCSD campus
  department or a  faculty member and are holding an event
  which is focused on the  Native American community, the
  UCSD California Native American Day Committee would like
  to help fund your event!  To qualify for funding, you must hold
  your event held no later than December 11th.  Funding
  Deadlines: October 1st (Round I) & November 1st (Round II)

PPIA JUNIOR SUMMER INSTITUTE  Princeton University
PPIA  The Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs is 
  pleased to announce that the 2010 PPIA Junior Summer Institute
  will be held at Princeton University from June 10 through July 30, 
  2010.  The goal of the PPIA Junior Summer Institute is to prepare
  students for graduate study and careers in public policy and
  international affairs.  The summer institute provides a rigorous
  training in policy analysis and serves as a springboard to
