The Campus Community Centers are accepting applications for the Chancellor's Undergraduate Diversity Learning Initiative (CUDLI), a 10-week social justice institute. CUDLI is an experiential gathering of learners framed by a commitment to personal growth regarding issues of social justice.

Rosalio Munoz to appear at UCSD
Fri., March 14 at 7pm in Student Services Center, Multi-Purpose Room
Munoz was a draft resister during the U.S. war in Viet Nam and key organizer of the National Chicano Moratorium Committee that turned out 25,000 people on August 29, 1970 to protest the war.
Committee for World Democracy (CWD) Film Series Winter 2008 This film examines the events at Tierra Amarilla, NM, that sparked a national movement for social justice. It focuses on the 1967 struggle by Mexican Americans to regain ownership of New Mexico lands guaranteed them by the 1848 Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, and concludes with the Chicano Moratorium March against the Vietnam War held in East Los Angeles in 1970. Rosalio Munoz will be present for the discussion. Always Free!

Spring Quarter Room Reservations
The Cross-Cultural Center is now taking room reservation requests for the Spring 2008 quarter. Requests will be processed in a first come, first served manner, with the exception of Affiliate groups and academic classes (which have priority). You can either stop by the Center to fill out a room request form or you can find it on our website and fax it to us.
This is our LAST quarter in building 201. We will NOT be taking room reservations for our new space in the Price Center Expansion until Summer 2008.

PANOCHA HEALING March 6, 2008 @ 5 pm LGBT Resource Center Conference Room
COOCHIE, CUNT, VAGINA PANOCHA, PUSSY. What do you call yours? What do these words invoke? Many of us have been given a distorted perception of our panochas. Join youth and senior intern, Brianna Marquez, for an exploration into how both older and younger generations, especially queer womyn of color, have been negatively influenced, which has created distorted perceptions of our panochas. This event will focus on a panocha healing that educates us to use our panocha wisdom to create healthy relationships with our bodies.

Finals Study Breaks at the Campus Community Centers!
That's right folks, for your study pleasure the Campus Community Centers have combined forces to provide a space for students to have late-night studying in preparation for finals.
 On each night starting Sunday, March 16 through the morning of Wednesday, March 19, 2008 one of the community centers will be open until the late hours. There will be study space, free food, study group rooms, and plenty of coffee!
The schedule is as follows:
-all Sunday night / Monday morning go to the LGBT Resource Center.
-Monday night / Tuesday morning until 2AM go to the Cross-Cultural Center .
-all Tuesday night / Wednesday morning go to the Women's Center.

FACES is excited to announce the opening of  applications for Face2FaceExposure Trip 2008! During the 10-day summer program, participants meet and engage with Philippine-based grassroots community members through educational exchange and activities. The trip aims to establish meaningful and mutually beneficial bonds of solidarity between Filipino American and Philippine communities through education and understanding of U.S. and Philippine environmental justice issues.

The Japanese American community has a vibrant history spanning more than a century and four generations in the United States. The participation of young Japanese Americans is one of the keys to sustaining the rich culture and traditions of the Nikkei heritage. The goal of the Nikkei Community Internship is to develop the next generation of leaders in the Nikkei community.

We want to create a space in which we will be inspired by the insights of various disciplines to examine issues such as Women and War, Immigration, Poverty, Reproductive Justice, Power, Privilege, and Difference and to empower ourselves and all feminists to act productively in response to the crises of our time.

Mexican Migration and Field Research Program
Undergraduates interested in the year-long Mexican Migration and Field Research Program (MMFRP) have the exciting opportunity to conduct graduate level research, earn a minor in International Migration Studies and prepare for a future career in law, journalism, academia or non-profit work. Participants in the MMFRP conduct fieldwork in a migrant sending town in rural Mexico and co-author a chapter in a published book on Mexican Migration. Grants for the MMFRP cover all participants travel related expenses. Students with data analysis, research, writing, and fieldwork experience or interest from any major are encouraged to apply. Spanish proficiency, letters of recommendation, resume and writing sample are required for an interview with MMFRP.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund
HSF scholarship applications for the 2008-2009 academic year are now available online.
General eligibility requirements are as follows:
- Be of Hispanic heritage
- Be a high school senior, undergraduate or graduate college student
- Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident
- Have a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA
- Must apply for federal financial aid using the FAFSA
- Must plan to enroll FULL-TIME in a degree seeking program at a U.S. accredited institution in the 2008-2009 academic year.

MOVEMENT ACTIVIST APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM (MAAP) Now Accepting Applications for MAAP 2008
The Movement Activist Apprenticeship Program (MAAP) is a paid 8-week intensive national organizer training program for people of color, who are committed to learning the theory and practice of building social justice movements through direct-action organizing. Participants learn the art and science of organizing through in-the-field training and skills development with a community or labor organization. Graduates of the program receive help finding employment as organizers with community and labor organizations fighting for social justice. Over the years, MAAP has produced hundreds of emerging organizers of color, who have continued to work for social justice and gone on to play key roles in the Movement.

The CRS Symposium, "Race, Sexuality & the Law: Abercrombie, Imus & Beyond" will feature interdisciplinary academic panels exploring the role of law, culture,media and communities in shaping representations of race, gender and sexual orientation.The event is FREE to the public
The Symposium convenes over 300 people from law schools, ethnic studies and race-related research centers, graduate and undergraduate programs, law firms, legal services organizations and community-based social change agencies from across the country.
