Focus on our ministry partners
Your congregation, through the Ohio Conference, has 13 ministry partners that provide vital health and human services or quality higher education to folks in Ohio and beyond. Each of these partners, also known as benevolent institutions, has stories to tell about the people whose lives they have touched. We will share those stories with you each month in Connections for the next year or so.
In July you met Charlie, a resident of Emmaus Homes. This month we're featuring the ministries of Hope Homes. Both organizations provide homes and services to adults with developmental disabilities. We hope you'll enjoy these snapshots of United Church of Christ ministries. Read on below. |

Hope Homes Has New Logo & Website
Hope Homes, Inc. has implemented a new logo to better reflect their client-centric view to supportive services.
This tree-like structure consists of small houses as foliage. The foliage represents not only the many homes run by the organization, but the many households, churches and human service agencies that make up Hope Homes' network of service and support. Read the article

Urgent Need for Church World Service Kits
Floods and tornadoes have almost depleted the Church World Service supply of clean up buckets, personal care, and school kits.
These kits are a great gift to people in need.
Formulas for ingredients and places to ship
New! On October 9, kits can be dropped off at Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio. A CWS truck will be at the Festival of Sharing, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. If you live nearby, bring your kits to Otterbein and save the shipping costs.

Conference Minister's Corner
Rev. Bob Molsberry
A Remarkable Convergence of Ideas
An amazing thing happened at a recent meeting of UCC Conference Ministers from across the country and the Collegium of Officers of the national setting of the church: the group arrived at consensus!
For a group that never agrees on anything, this was a remarkable outcome.
Some people laugh and say that getting a group of Conference Ministers to agree on something is like herding cats. But, really, it's worse than that.
Corralling Conference Ministers is more like herding sheep dogs. Each one wants to be in charge.
