***PRESS RELEASE***

BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND: It's "In My Father's House" Gospel Stage Play

Local Detroit playwright, Glen Johnson, known for his powerful and dynamic gospel plays, "I Need You to Survive" and "The Night I Fell in Love," returns with "In My Father's House."

Detroit, MI-Glen Johnson, the mastermind behind My Purpose Production is returning with his hit gospel stage play In My Father's House for two nights at Fellowship Chapel in Detroit.

In My Father's House culminates real life experiences with drama, humor, suspense and of course, God's word.  Dedicated to the church, Minister Nawl (Glen Johnson) finds himself and his family succumbing to the influences that surround them, not realizing that being a minister does not give him or his family an automatic waiver from the evils of the world.  The minister gives his daughter, Joy (Tasha Taylor), everything she wants except for his time and attention, which she eventually finds elsewhere.

Grace Nawl (Gladys Powe), the devoted wife of the minister, is always giving to everyone but herself and eventually finds herself involved in a tug-o-war with her husband and daughter while being entangled in their neighbor's constant dilemmas.  Grace knows that "he that won't be counseled can't be helped!"  With all of the misfortune, there's not much room for joy or grace to remain in the Nawl household leaving a great amount of uncertainty in the mind of Minister Nawl.  He begins to question what is going on with his wife and daughter; but his actions are also being questioned by his friend and church deacon, Doc (Lenear Brooks).  In My Father's House is guaranteed to stir emotions while ministering to the hearts of all.

In My Father's House highlights the musical talents of recording artist Kenneth Page who also serves as musical director.  As seen on Last Comic Standing - Season 6 and Showtime at the Apollo, presenting her comedic gifts will be Detroit's New Queen of Comedy, Crystal P.

In My Father's House will be at Fellowship Chapel, Village Dome Banquet Center, 7707 West Outer Drive, Detroit, MI.  May 9-10, 2008.  Both shows begin at 7:30PM.  All seats are only $25.  Group rates and fundraising opportunities are available.
