Resources on Systems Theory/Healthy Congregations Workshop |
| Recently, the Mid-Atlantic District sponsored a pastor's retreat on family systems theory, a very relevant topic to congregations. The pastors spent a day and a half with Douglas Murphy of the Center of Study of the Family learning about the dynamics that influence our families and our congregations. Here is a list of resources related to systems theory culled from that workshop and the web:
Finally, MoR and the Western Pennsylvania District are co-sponsoring a Healthy Congregations workshop, led by Jim Kinsey, on May 3, 2008. This workshop is based on the work of Peter Steinke, a congregational consultant and systems theory practitioner.
Learn:
- a Biblical approach to consulting and healing broken communities
- the dynamics of emotional field, the way the brain functions and co-causal understandings of human interaction
- skills for self-understanding and differentiation in healing ministries
