"The hopes and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight."
No matter how many times we hear it, it's still an amazing story.
A child is born to a humble couple in the quiet little town of
Bethlehem, in a poor country suffering under an occupying army, and
that baby is the divine spark which will change the world. The infant
Jesus is God's love breaking into this sad, suffering world in a whole
new way.
In this Christmas greeting from On Earth Peace, I want to invite you
to join us in praying for God's love to break into our world in fresh
ways today - in places of war and suffering around the world, and in
our own hearts. O come, O come, Immanuel!
I want to thank you, on behalf of the board and staff, for all the
ways you have been a part of the ministries of peacebuilding and
reconciliation this year. Your work, witness, prayers and support have
been essential.
We wish you a Christmas of wonder, reverence and joy, and a blessed new year.

Countdown to 2008
What Will Be New at On Earth Peace
With less than a week to go before the new year, I just can't keep it secret any longer! There are new initiatives beginning in 2008 through the On Earth Peace Community. There will be articles in upcoming Peacebuilders about how you can be involved -but just to give you a few glimpses:
Peace Partners:A new way to build relationships with our volunteers, recognizing their peacemaking efforts and support of On Earth Peace.
Online Donations: The opportunity to donate online sometimes feels like just a few mouse clicks. However, it is also the beginning of a relationship with our donors and we are wanting to build that with you.
Event Reports: You have probably read our announcements about upcoming events, workshops, and retreats that we plan for the community. We are going to start sharing how they went and the experiences of participants.
