Tune Up Your Senses by Karen Karsten
Our five senses--Sight, touch, smell, hearing and taste are the way we perceive and experience the world around us. Engaging your senses thoughtfully in your everyday life can lead to richer, more fulfilling experiences that help you feel more connected to your body.
I invite you on a sensual exploration of sights, sounds, scents, textures and tastes to discover what is most pleasurable to you. The information you get might surprise you and will help you create powerful, purposeful sensual experiences for yourself.
The Five Senses Tune Up takes just a little time over a one week period. The first five days, pick a different sense every day to explore. Say smell is first. Set your intention to notice how things smell and what you like or don't like about particular scents. Then follow with the remaining senses.
At the end of the five days, take a look at your notes and see what it is that gives you pleasure and what doesn't. How can you limit what doesn't please your senses? What excited and pleased you-how can you get more of that? Maybe you need more beautiful things to look at, more music in your environment, pleasant scents, fun things to taste and clothing that feels wonderful.
For the last two days of your tune up, build experiences into each day that combine your senses, so that all your senses are engaged. Now that you are tuned up--think of ways you can continue to make your life more sensual.
PS: I love the words that come up as synonyms for sensual--they are SO Rich Chicks--these words even feel rich to say, don't they?
