Diocesan Events

 

Licensed Eucharistic Visitor Training A one-day training for all who want to take the Eucharist to homebound people. Required for all diocesan LEVs. Saturday, March 24, 9a-3p at St. John's, Chula Vista. $15 includes lunch and materials. Register by emailing Ms. Becky Lawton  by Friday, March 16. Include "LEV" in the subject line of your email. Renewal of Vows All Episcopal and Lutheran clergy are welcome to attend this annual service on Tuesday of Holy Week, April 3 at 10:30a at St. Paul's Cathedral, 2728 Sixth Ave., San Diego, 92103. Interfaith Community Footwashing This quarterly service project of the Diocesan Service Coalition takes place on Maundy Thursday, April 5 at the Episcopal Church Center, 2083 Sunset Cliffs Blvd., 10a - 1p. We will wash the feet of homeless people in Ocean Beach at the Center, where they will also be able to connect with social services that will help them long-term. One-Day Seminar for clergy

Come hear the president of the Lake Institute on Faith and Giving at Indiana University's Center on Philanthropy. This day-long seminar is open to all clergy in the Episcopal Diocese of San Diego. Those who wish to attend should believe in their congregation's capacity for greater generosity; have a desire to be more comfortable with money; be willing to redefine giving; understand giving to include service, social networks and sharing ideas and professional expertise. Friday, April 13, 8:30a-3p at Calvary Lutheran Church, 424 Via de la Valle, Solana Beach. $55 registration fee includes a participants' workbook, light breakfast and lunch. Ben Lomond Men's Clergy Retreat

  

The program of this retreat for male clergy will cover: the power of our story, living our purpose, how to be a hero and a servant, and the shadow side of leadership. The men's retreat will begin Monday, May 14 at around 5pm and conclude with lunch on Thursday, May 17. Transportation can be provided. Cost: $255. Location: The redwood forest in the Santa Cruz mountains. We have been blessed by the donation of a few cabins/homes for the use of our time together.
