Diocesan Events

 

Licensed Eucharistic Visitor Training A one-day training for all who want to take the Eucharist to homebound people. Required for all diocesan LEVs. Saturday, March 24, 9a-3p at St. John's, Chula Vista. $15 includes lunch and materials. Register by emailing Ms. Becky Lawton  by Friday, March 16. Include "LEV" in the subject line of your email. Interfaith Community Footwashing This quarterly service project of the Diocesan Service Coalition takes place on Maundy Thursday, April 5 at the Episcopal Church Center, 2083 Sunset Cliffs Blvd., 10a - 1p. We will wash the feet of homeless people in Ocean Beach at the Center, where they will also be able to connect with social services that will help them long-term. Each church is asked to donate 25 pairs of new shoes or $125. More info? Contact Ms. Nancy Holland or visit the diocesan web site. Volunteers wanted.

Legacy Evensong Bishop Mathes will host the first Bishop's Legacy Society Evensong on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at 5pm at St. Paul's Cathedral. For those who have remembered an Episcopal church or ministry in their estate plans. Save the Date: May 5, Amazing Journeys The second annual gala for the Episcopal Refugee Network will be 5 on the enchanting Berkeley, the Victorian steam ferryboat berthed on Harbor Drive at the San Diego Maritime Museum. $75. Standing Commission on Liturgy & Music Statement on Inconsistencies in Holy Week Liturgies

 

The SCLM issued a statement concerning inconsistencies between the Revised Common Lectionary (RCL) and the Holy Week Liturgies in the Book of Common Prayer (BCP). The statement can be summed up by the following.
