Lord, I believe in you: increase my faith.
I trust in you: strengthen my trust.
I love you: let me love you more and more.
I am sorry for my sins: deepen my sorrow.

I worship you as my first beginning,
I long for you as my last end,
I praise you as my constant helper,
And call on you as my loving protector.

Guide me by your wisdom,
Correct me with your justice,
Comfort me with your mercy,
Protect me with your power.

Pope Clement IX

Diocesan Briefs
New Face Leading a New Initiative
nancy holland

Ms. Nancy Holland, the new director of

the Episcopal Church Center in Ocean Beach.

Bishop Mathes appointed Nancy Holland to be the new director of the Episcopal Church Center, former known as Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.

"Nancy Holland is a stellar individual," said Bishop Mathes. "She offers boundless enthusiasm and energy to this project of creating a diocesan center in Ocean Beach."

The center will be a gathering place for diocesan meetings and business as well as a haven for people in need. Bishop Mathes envisions the Episcopal Church Center as a training campus for new priests, deacons and laypersons.

"I'm really excited about this," said Holland as she talked about future plans for the center. "A conscious decision has been made to place this diocesan center in a neighborhood with some special needs."

Among her responsibilities as director, Holland will coordinate all activities at the center, including managing the budget and scheduling programs. She works closely with the bishop and his staff to refine and advance the center's vision. Perhaps most importantly she will build relationships in the local community to help bring about the vision, making it a reality in a place where so many need so much.

"I look out every day and I see God's abundance everywhere," she said. "Part of my responsibility is to give back."

Stay tuned for more information about the Episcopal Church Center.
