KMC FlexStat is Product of the Year Winner Wednesday, September 08, 2010 - Oak Brook, Illinois Consulting-Specifying Engineer (CSE) magazine, published by CFE Media, announces this month winners of its annual Product of the Year award program. Among the winners, the FlexStat, an integrated BACnet controller and sensor from KMC Controls, has been awarded a Gold medal in the Networked/BAS category. Finalists in each category were selected by the editorial staff of the magazine based on manufacturer's product releases over the previous calendar year. These finalists were published in the June/July issue of CSE and on a voting page of the CSE web site. The most popular products, as determined by reader votes, received various levels of recognition. All winners of the CSE Product of the Year competition will be published in the September issue of the magazine. Award Winning Buildings Feature KMC Controls Each year, BOMA, the Building Owners and Managers Association International, honors the best of the best in commercial buildings through awards known as TOBY® for The Outstanding Building of the Year. In submitting applications for these awards, the owner has the opportunity to identify products integral to the building's performance, including the energy management and control systems.
Four buildings, recognized as Regional award winners in the 2009-2010 TOBY awards, were noted as having BACnet control systems from KMC Controls:
For this last building, Control Contractors, Inc., a KMC Authorized Installing Contractor, was responsible for the DDC system installation during this historic building's recent renovation. Nearly 200 KMC BACnet controllers were installed with the TotalControl operator workstation. This building was also recognized for excellence by the Northwest/Arctic Region of the GSA.
