It's time to EXPRESS yourself! Like never before...

At first it was the tablet. Then there was Papyrus. Papyrus was swiftly followed by paper, the telex machine, the fax machine, and, as one thing led to another, we witnessed the evolution of the desktop PC, the mobile phone and the PDA.

Computers began "speaking" to each other, and the advent of e-mail and the Internet allowed us to network with people on a whole new level. The "dot com" era had arrived and the world had suddenly become a much smaller place.

Web sites started popping up everywhere selling anything from electronics to books to degrees. But people wanted more...

Social networking started with groups such as MySpace and Facebook and suddenly we were connecting with people that we had not seen or heard from in years. After "seeing" some of these people online, most of us started wondering whether the moisturisers we were using were really working, or whether everyone else was just getting old!

Just when we thought that there couldn't possibly be any more, we were told that to REALLY get the message across, we needed to Tweet. So off we flocked and created a Twitter account too.

And if you thought for just one second that that was all there was to our story, Red Pepper Books too has evolved: Over and above our wonderful web site at www.redpepperbooks.co.za where you can find any book or audio book under the sun (and then some!), we now have something else for you - it's our way of keeping our community informed and up to date on everything and anything going on in the world of books: Today, we are very proud to announce the launch of the Red Pepper blog, The Pepper Express... the name of which was chosen by you, our dedicated readers.

For those of you who participated in our survey to help us find our name, a HUGE thank you, dankie, ngiyabonga and merci: The name "Pepper Express" came out tops. For the Peppers, by the Peppers.

For those of you who participated, a R50 book voucher will be making its way to your Inbox soon, as a token of our undying thanks and appreciation!

Congratulations are also in order to Elke de Beer who is the lucky winner of the book "Rich Brother, Rich Sister" by Robert and Emi Kiyosaki, simply for being a part of this competition.

The Pepper Express is our official virtual soapbox, and it's yours too. We would love to see every member of the Pepperland community involved in and on our blog.

We are updating our blog on a daily basis with news, reviews, information on upcoming events such as book fairs, book launches and book signings, to name but a few. Please participate and give us your comments, as often as you like: For example, you can click on this link to The Pepper Express right now and tell us what you're currently reading (or listening to, if you're an audio book person) what you think of it, or whether you should have rather seen the movie.

Whats more, invite your friends, your family and your colleagues, and let's build a blog for book lovers like none other!
