The Academy's education committee is now accepting applications for scholarships to attend the Updates in Correctional Health Care conference in San Antonio, May 17-20.

Readers Write
We invite contributions for forthcoming issues, which will address the following topics:
 
ˇ Inmate care: Does the community have a role?
ˇ Harm reduction strategies in jails: What is possible? What works?
ˇ Self-mutilation and self-harm: What are the custody and health care implications?
 
Essays should be 300-500 words, double-spaced and include your name, credentials, job title, professional affiliation, city/state. Also include a phone number.

Committees provide member oversight of the programs and activities of the Academy. Although each committee has its own charges and responsibilities (described on our Web site), they all act as a strategic entity of the full board.
