Today's Word
People Pleasers
You will never please God trying to please people.
If you're like most people you want others to like and accept you, and when they don't frankly it hurts sometimes. You may go out of your way to please them, trying everything you can to fit in, and still for some reason whatever you do its just never good enough. You can never say the right thing, wear the right cloths, have the right look, drive the right car or live in the right place. Your education doesn't match theirs, your kid isn't as smart as theirs, and you don't make as much money as they do. Sound familiar? Well, it happens every day of the week and it destroys most peoples self-esteem to the point of becoming crippling. Trying to please people can go back as far as having to always please your parents, a coach, a friend or a mate just to get their approval so they can control your life, and when you look at theirs generally you will find a mess.
If you're a "people pleaser" your life is like an EKG. One minute it's up and the next it's down. You're happy, you're sad and sometimes you're in-between. But when you allow God to have first place in your life, the pleasing game is over, you're set free, liberated to love rather than please. Learn to love people rather then please them. Begin to understand that God never put you here to be liked, but He did put your here to love. You are a reflection of His glory and His grace, you're "a chip off the old block" and like Jesus your life has a purpose and a meaning like no other.
Remember, Jesus couldn't please people and neither can you. So, why not focus on pleasing God by living His purpose for your life and others will seek to follow you instead of you following them.

All You Need Is Love
HEAVENLY FATHER, may this reader look to please You in every area of their life and not seek the approval of man. May they accept Your blessing of strength to overcome the snars of life that bind them away from being all You created them to be. In Jesus Name. Amen!
