 susan's musings
The Jewish New Year, Roshana Hashana, begins this Monday evening at sundown. Happy 5773 Whew, we've been at this for a long time! This time of year always takes me back to being a little girl in a wool dress that was too warm for the season. But I was excited to wear that new dress even if it was 80 degrees when we went to temple.

These days I don't attend synagogue or any organized religious activities. I think I found God, though. God is in my husband. In my puppy. In my home. In my family. In Nature. In meditation. In me. I don't need to put on a new dress to find God. I know temples, churches, mosques, zendos, etc. offer much more than a place to gather a few times a year. But for sometime now, I've found that peace in other places. And it makes me so so happy.

I do love the feel of a New Year beginning as the seasons change. We will celebrate with friends, dipping apples into honey to signify a sweet start for the year. And then we will come home to our own little temple nestled deep in the hills of Mount Washington.

I wish all of you peace, love and happiness, wherever you may find it.

Much love to all,

susan

Ella finds happiness ripping up her toys. I sew them back up, and she tears into them up again. Over and over and over....
