Join us this Tuesday evening, January 31, at 7 pm, to hear the musings and astute observations of best-selling author Eric Weiner.
Eric will be talking about his new book,
Man Seeks God: My Flirtations with the Divine. The Baltimore-born author, journalist and NPR commentator decided to write Man Seeks God: after a health scare left him reeling. Eric -- a self-proclaimed gastronomical Jewish atheist by default -- set out on a worldwide search for an experience of the "divine."
A long-time spiritual voyeur and inveterate traveler, he realizes that while he has been privy to a wide range of religious practices, he's never seriously considered these concepts in his own life. Face-to-face with his own mortality, he decides to correct this omission, undertaking a worldwide exploration of religions, hoping to come to a personal understanding of the divine.
He travels to Nepal to meditate with Lamas, sojourns to Turkey to whirl with the Sufis, heads to China to unblock his Chi, goes to Israel to study Kabalah, in the Bronx he encounters Franciscan friars, and in Las Vegas, he has close encounters with the Raelians -- the followers of the world's largest UFO-based religion.

Come hear how Eric tackles these spiritual questions: Where do we come from? What happens when we die? How should we live our lives? Where do all the missing socks go?
With his trademark wit and warmth, he leaves no stone unturned.
Man Seeks God presents a perspective on religion that is sure to delight, inspire and definitely entertain!
Eric's previous book, The Geography of Bliss: One Grump's Search for the Happiest Places in the World, was a huge best seller. See Eric on PBS NewsHour here.
