Hello All!

I hope you had a terrific holiday weekend. We went to our friend's farm in Middletown, Maryland with the puppy. I took a stack of books hoping for some time to read! It's a dream of mine to spend a
Ella on the Rocks

Ella on the Rocks

week in the middle of nowhere and read all these amazing books that cross my path.

I know I know this, but I forget to do it...sit in the grass and look at the clouds, listen to the birds, feel the wind. Just do nothing. Resist the urge to reach for the Blackberry. Sometimes the Blackberry wins but this weekend, more often then not, it was nature that won out. Even though it was something like 100 degrees, it was still so beautiful to be away, resting, reading and reconnecting.

Now I'm off to Asheville, NC for a Chopra Workshop called Journey Into Healing. It's a workshop I do every few years to brush up on my Ayurvedic knowledge. I look forward to sharing with you what I learn!

Please remember we have a lot going on at the bookstore -- you can see the June events listed below, including Lynne McTaggart, who is coming from London on June 4th to lead a workshop based on her new book, The Bond. It's a tool kit for living in the world today -- you don't want to miss this! Please call us ASAP if you want to attend as space is limited.

You may also be interested in another event on June 4th, in the evening. Michael Bernard Beckwith and Rickie Byers Beckwith will be at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Michael BeckwithCenter at the University of Maryland, at 7pm.

In times of challenge and change, there are key questions that many share: Do we search for meaning, or grasp for survival? How can we prosper and grow? What is genuine happiness and how may we experience it?

Highly respected visionary teacher, Michael Bernard Beckwith addresses these and other profound questions in The Answer Is You.

Dr. Beckwith has appeared on Oprah, Larry King Live, and was a featured teacher in the film and book The Secret.
To reserve tickets by phone please call 301-405-2787.
More information and to order tickets on line, you can click here.

This event is presented by the Baltimore and Falls Church, VA Centers for Spiritual Living.

And this is just on June 4!! See everything we have going on below. Remember that breathe books is open for you 7 days a week and that we can order just about anything at all that you may need to further your spiritual practice -- even the perfect paperback for a beach read! We're happy to get you whatever you need.

We have just a few seats left for Dish and Dine event at The Dogwood with author McKay Jenkins. You can see details for the June 8th event here.

See you very soon!

Much love,

Susan

Wednesday, June 22, 7 - 9 p.m. Developing Business Intuition with Kala Ambrose

Described as the sixth sense, one day intuition will appear as normal in each person as the other five senses. In the past, we used both our instincts and our intuition to survive in the wild. In more recent times, as we focused on developing and incorporating concepts of logical and ordered thinking, intuition was pushed aside and essentially forgotten.

We all have intuition and we currently use it on a subconscious level. We experience intuition in the body (gut feelings), the mind (creative ideas), the emotions (impulses) and in spirit (hunches and inspiration). Intuition is our guide to trusting our inner voice and our instincts. It is a tool and when used properly, it speaks directly and succinctly. Developing Business Intuition can allow you to reach your goals and pursue dreams that may have appeared previously unattainable.

See Kala's website for more information. Cost: $45. If you attend this event and her event on June 21, the total cost for both is $80.

Wednesday, June 22, 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Meet the Author: Steve Volk -- Fringe-Ology: How I Tried to Explain Away the Unexplainable-And Couldn't

Steve Volk remembers the loud booming sounds that emanated from the walls and the roof of his house late at night when he was a child. His family didn't know what the source of the noise was, but his sisters claimed Steve Volkblankets were pulled from their beds and that they saw an old woman walk through the closed door of their room. People uncomfortable with the inexplicable hear this story and attribute these episodes to faulty pipes or overactive imaginations. But others have no hesitation-the Volk family was visited by a ghost.

Inspired by the noise his family could never trace, reporter Volk brings the conversation front and center in Fringe-ology: How I Tried to Explain Away the Unexplainable-And Couldn't, a rollicking journey into the unexplored territory where modern science and the paranormal converge.

What Volk discovers is that there is enough mystery left in the world to humble us all, and that out of this humility arises the opportunity to answer some of the most fundamental questions about our existence. Ultimately, he finds common ground we can all share-a place for skeptics and believers, spiritualists and scientists to stand together, not at the fringes, but at the heart of what it means to be human.
