Wednesday, June 22, 7 - 9 p.m. Developing Business Intuition with Kala Ambrose
Described as the sixth sense, one day intuition will appear as normal in each person as the other five senses. In the past, we used both our instincts and our intuition to survive in the wild. In more recent times, as we focused on developing and incorporating concepts of logical and ordered thinking, intuition was pushed aside and essentially forgotten.
We all have intuition and we currently use it on a subconscious level. We experience intuition in the body (gut feelings), the mind (creative ideas), the emotions (impulses) and in spirit (hunches and inspiration). Intuition is our guide to trusting our inner voice and our instincts. It is a tool and when used properly, it speaks directly and succinctly. Developing Business Intuition can allow you to reach your goals and pursue dreams that may have appeared previously unattainable.
See Kala's website for more information. Cost: $45. If you attend this event and her event on June 21, the total cost for both is $80.
Wednesday, June 22, 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Meet the Author: Steve Volk -- Fringe-Ology: How I Tried to Explain Away the Unexplainable-And Couldn't
Steve Volk remembers the loud booming sounds that emanated from the walls and the roof of his house late at night when he was a child. His family didn't know what the source of the noise was, but his sisters claimed blankets were pulled from their beds and that they saw an old woman walk through the closed door of their room. People uncomfortable with the inexplicable hear this story and attribute these episodes to faulty pipes or overactive imaginations. But others have no hesitation-the Volk family was visited by a ghost.
Inspired by the noise his family could never trace, reporter Volk brings the conversation front and center in Fringe-ology: How I Tried to Explain Away the Unexplainable-And Couldn't, a rollicking journey into the unexplored territory where modern science and the paranormal converge.
What Volk discovers is that there is enough mystery left in the world to humble us all, and that out of this humility arises the opportunity to answer some of the most fundamental questions about our existence. Ultimately, he finds common ground we can all share-a place for skeptics and believers, spiritualists and scientists to stand together, not at the fringes, but at the heart of what it means to be human.
