Hello Baltimore IONS Members!
Our next meeting will be held on Monday, February 14, at 7 p.m.
IONS was formed by a former astronaut who was one of the few people to walk the moon. Some scientists suggest that ancient astronauts once walked the earth! They point to creation myths with uncanny similarities across cultures, flying machines portrayed in sculpture and books, and visitors who had a civilizing influence (i.e. Quetzalcoatl, Viracocha, and the Annunaki).
Some even suggest that the "missing link" in human evolution was an intentional intervention by ancient visitors. What if this were true? What are the implications for our
understanding of human consciousness - both how it evolved and where it is headed? The History Channel has aired an immensely popular series called "Ancient Aliens" addressing some of the theories. We will screen 30 minutes of excerpts followed by group discussion. Join us! It should be lively!
Member Survey
Make your thoughts heard in a new member survey for 2011. Last time we did this it was extremely helpful at setting priorities for the coming year. Please share your thoughts at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/55BQHV6
Leadership
Thank you to Matt Willet, Nancie Rosenberg, Dan Greifenberger, Phila Hoopes, Howard Hrobak andLarry Bohlen for volunteering to be part of a program group that will work to set a full-year agenda based on feedback from the new survey.
Meeting dates and times
We're keeping the second Monday of the month as our regular discussion group meeting date! It looked like Susan needed to change the date because of her schedule, but this is no longer the case. Monday's have been the best for the group so let's keep them in the coming year. The third Monday of every other month will remain the date for the book club.
New Activities
Members elected three new activities for the year:
1) A weekend retreat. Charles Myers volunteered to coordinate a group to plan for a Fall event.
2) An IONS intention-setting group. It will be aligned with or be modeled after Lynn McTaggart's Intention Experiment, Amit Goswami's Quantum Activism or the Global Coherence Initiative. IONS will participate in each of their programs in the coming year and decide which model works best.
3) A Master-mind group. Suggested by Robyn Jacobs, this smaller group will meet regularly to deepen the exploration found in our regular monthly meeting. The group shares a commitment to support the growth of each member.Contact Robyn at robyn@pettagcreations.com.
We hope to see you on Monday, 2/14!
