Wednesday, September 1, 2010
Hello All,
It's hard to believe it's September 1. That means we actually made it through the first eight months of 2010 -- one of the most challenging years ever (in my lifetime) for retailers...all of us really, as we've watched the economy do its thing.

2010 was the year of the snow, the year of the banks not lending small businesses money to help us cope with the lost of business because of snow, and then the string of something like sixty 90+ degree days in a row! It hasn't been too pretty, sometimes.

So I am extremely grateful to you, our breathe books customers, for supporting us, for being here, for coming to classes, for buying books and gifts and for visiting just to say hi even when you didn't have money to buy something. It's all appreciated.

An article came out last week by Stacey Mitchell, the author of The Big Box Swindle, and the senior researcher with the New Rules Project. Here she talks about Grass Roots Financing for small businesses. This is a program that we re-created for breathe books earlier this year. (You can see our Community Investment Plan here).

Many customers have invested in the bookstore which has really helped us this year. But it doesn't end here. It's an ongoing project as we look to expand the business and grow even deeper roots in the community. Later this fall I should have more news to share about our plans. Please feel free to contact me if you would like more details on the investment plan. Email me at: susan@breathebooks.com.

So this week we introduce Cece Lee, who will be offering her intuitive Tarot Card readings at breathe o
Cece Leen a regular basis. Cece will be here every Tuesday and Thursday. Her interpretation of the cards comes from years of experience with Buddhist and Tibetan studies, giving her  a distinctive voice of the East. Call us to schedule a reading! See complete details below.

Enjoy these last days of summer!

love,

susan

Cece Lee
Cece Lee
Cece uses tarot as a vehicle to assist people in uncovering the wisdom of their own unconscious. As everything is energy, in the query process your own energy goes into the cards too-you're the driver in the journey to a land of symbols. The reading is a helicopter-like view of all the influences you will see affecting your present situation. Her heart's desire is that each reading will help assist, clarify, and affirm your inner wisdom to bring you greater happiness and peace.

Cece has studied and practiced Western forms of divination like tarot and astrology for over 17 years, and is also a Buddhist in the Tibetan tradition. Cost: introductory rate, $45/hour
