Hello All!

Join us tonight, the eve of Earth Day, for a talk with author Jon Turk. He'll be speaking to us about his incredible journey to a Siberian village where he met and worked with a Koryak Shaman, who was able to physically heal Turk's broken pelvis. The healing profoundly changed his life forever, irrevocably altering his view of the connection between the natural and spiritual worlds. This will be a fabulous (free!) event. Don't miss it!!

On Earth Day,Thursday, April 22, we will be showing an extremely appropriate film for the occasion, Recreating a Garden Planet, with the creator of the Anastasia series, Ringing Cedars. Space is limited so please RSVP.

Details on all this and more (so much more! Relax with Josh and Andrea, Intuition Workshop with Dani Shaw, Feng Shui Bliss with Hope Gerecht) are below and on the website.

Remember Ayurvedic Cooking class is this Sunday, April 25 -- we have room for a few more people. It's always a fun and enlightening time cooking and eating together.

Special off-site event May 6:
Bruce Feiler has written 9 books including the PBS mini-series Walking the Bible.

His newest book confronts a completely different world. Council of Dads is Bruce's chronicle of how he cobbled together a group of male friends whom he enlisted to act as Fathers to his children, after a devasting cancer diagnosis. The book is a deeply moving, hopeful story of love and family. Most of all it's a celebration of friendship.

Bruce's strikingly honest writing reveals such deep inner wisdom that can only come from a person facing their own mortality. You will love the book. And you can meet Bruce on Thursday, May 6th at the JCC in Owings Mills. Click here for details and to purchase tickets. We'll be on-hand selling books!

Hope to see you soon.

love,

susan

Thursday, May 6, 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. Meet the Author: Bruce Feiler: Council of Dads
In 2008, Bruce Feiler, writer-presenter of the PBS miniseries, Walking the Bible, learned he had a life-threatening tumor in his left femur. Confronting the possibility that he may not be around to help his daughters grow up, he reached out to six men from all passages in his life and asked them to be present through the passages in his daughters' lives. He called this group of men The Council of Dads and wrote a book about the experience. This is a deeply hopeful book, a story of enduring love between a husband and wife and between a father and his daughters. But most of all it's a celebration of friendship and a testament to the profound power of human connections.

A child of high-functioning alcoholics, Dr. Levin knew she had intuitive abilities but with no one to talk to about it was unable to grasp the full meaning of this gift. Later, as a Hollywood agent and producer she honed her intuition, earning a reputation for her ability to discover talent in actors before anyone else recognized them. But still she didn't feel spiritually complete. The turning point in her life came when she was able to use her intuitive gift to help her mother, who was losing her battle with cancer, transition to the other side. She understood her true calling as a spiritual healer, and went back to school to get her doctorate in psychology. In the process pioneered a new approach to psychoanalysis called Soul CommunionTM.  Dr. Levin also helped to create a new protocol for mental health, founding a holistic, transformational institute called Moonview Sanctuary which blends ancient healing practices with modern medicine, psychology and neuroscience.
