Hello!

Our first Teen Book Club meeting was a big hit, and the list just keeps growing for the grown-up books and bagels meeting on January 30th, when we'll discuss Ghost by Alan Lightman. We still have space if you want to sign up!

February's Teen Book Club has a new date, so you don't have to choose between Valentine's Day and breathe! Plus, we've picked next month's books for both groups and can't wait to share them with you.

See you soon!

At our next meeting, Sunday, February 21, 5:15 p.m., we'll discuss Mattox Roesch's Sometimes We're Always Real Same-Same. LA gangster Cesar moves to small-town Alaska, where everything he believes to be true is thrown into doubt.

Book club and snacks cost: $7; group picks are 20% off for bookclub members. Please sign up in advance.

with Susan
breathe books' owner Susan Weis hosts books & bagels on the last Saturday of the month. Next meeting is on Saturday, February 27, 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Bagels and coffee graciously provided by Common Ground (819 W 36th St.)

Our second title is The Puttermesser Papers, by Cynthia Ozick. Library Journal writes, "Veteran novelist and essayist Ozick continues to impress with this episodic, highly imaginative, humorous exploration of the disappointed life of brilliant Jewish lawyer and scholar, Ruth Puttermesser... A master stylist with a powerful command of the English language, Ozick has created a revealing portrait of a complex woman, as well as a dark satire of government bureaucracy." Susan finds this book incredibly mysterious and moving. Unforgettable.

Bookclub, bagels and coffee (or tea) cost: $9.
20% off the book for all book club members. Please sign up in advance!
