Hello All,
|
So I wonder what happens to all those 01/20/09 bumper stickers now? It was an amazing day. I feel so proud of my country. Now the work begins.
In the meantime, come to breathe books for some fun! On Thursday night, Lisa Alcalay Klug, the author of Cool Jew: The Ultimate Guide for Every Member of the Tribe, joins us to share her thoughts on the "Heebster" movement. The book has a big yellow star on the front cover announcing "Not Just for Jews!" I do think anyone would get a kick out of this -- and it's full of useful information, such as "What the Lid Says about the Yid." (Learn what the skull cap vs. black fedora means -- who doesn't need to know this?!)
Lisa will be here at 7 p.m. this Thursday for a free talk. See more about Lisa in this week's Jewish Times (link to the right).
On Saturday-- just in time to line things up for Valentine's Day -- come meet Tali and Ophira Edut. The "AstroTwins" will be speaking about their new book, Love Zodiac: Essential Astrology Guide for Women. Tali and Ophira, who, among other things, have a regular column in Brides Magazine, will help you chart your course with someone you love.
Meet Tali and Ophira at 1 p.m. on Saturday for this free talk.
And on Sunday, Peruvian Shaman Amaru Li joins us at 12:30 to speak about our upcoming spiritual trip to Peru in June. This is a spur of the moment opportunity! So if you are interested in meeting Amaru and learning more about him and the trip, please join us! Details for the trip can be found at: http://breathebooks.com/bookstore_travel.php, or click on the quick link to the right.
If you can't make the talk, feel free to call me any time for information. We'd like to keep this trip to Peru a small, intimate group and we already have a few people signed up. So please call soon!
See February events on the website (quick link in the upper right-hand box).
See you all soon!
much love,
susan |
