Dear KIT friends,
in just very few weeks it will be 2009! We wish you already a Serene and Healthy Year... full - of course - of KIT in your life!
We'd like to thank you all for your friendship, and would like to acknowledge Pizzeria Piola for having organized KIT very first charity with Toto' for Make-a-Wish-Foundation.
KIT will continue to work hard to offer you great performances, innovative projects, new classes, unique concerts and so on.
Yet, we may need your support. We know that these are difficult times , but we believe that especially in these times we all need great culture to help us feeling alive and good about ourselves.
Among several projects KIT is working on, we would like to ask you to devote your support towards two productions very dear to our heart: Tosca e le altre by Franca Valeri and the Monologues by Dino Buzzati.
Read below and become part of KIT! All the supporters will be recognized in our printed material, in our web-site, and they will receive a big thank you from KIT as well as a KIT gift! Then your 2009 would be really perfect!
Ciao! KIT

KIT 2009 - Be a Supporter! KIT is preparing several different projects, mostly based on Italian playwrights. The two productions we ask you to support are especially important to us.
Franca Valeri and Dino Buzzati are, in different ways, two fundamental protagonists, two giants of theatre and literature in the Italian society of the past century. And both of them are little or not recognized in the States.
We hope to contribute to put a spot light on them by presenting their work. We can assure you that once you know them, you'll love them as we do!
Tosca e le Altre by Franca Valeri
After so many requests, Emilia and Iride will be back in a full production of Tosca e le Altre by the one and only and greatest Franca Valeri. The production will be presented in late Spring 2009.The performance will be presented in Italian with English subtitles. On stage, your truly Laura and Marta!
Women without escape: Monologues by Dino Buzzati Spogliarello - L'Orologio - Sola in Casa
Dino Buzzati, the "Italian Kafka", wrote these monologues in the late '50s but there is nothing of the "dolce vita" in these women trapped into their lives like passionate and proud victims of a fate they can't control. Solitude, magic, absurd, wait and death are the dominant themes of these ironic and at the same time dramatic monologues. This is a Double Theatre production: back to back, the English translation, followed by their original, evocative Italian.
