Remembering Antonio de Curtis - Toto's on the 40th anniversary of his death

40 years ago, on April 15th 1967, one of the most loved and greatest Italian actors, the Prince Antonio De Curtis, better known as Toto', passed away in his roman residence.



For the occasion, KIT-Kairos Italy Theater is expanding the traveling exhibition Excerpts of A Prince named Toto', preparing for a special 2007 tour starting in Los Angeles March 2nd and then going to Vancouver on April. Also, check KIT's website for additional news on the main exhibition A Prince named Toto' and the world-wide celebrations to come.

On the occasion of the Cortesi Family's US debut (March 19-25), KIT and Fatto a Mano present a 2 days workshop taught by Master puppeteers Daniele Cortesi and Family from Bergamo, Italy.


Learn the oldest traditional techniques of Italian Puppetry and Commedia dell'arte.

When: March 24-25, 10 AM - 3 PM.

Starting from this issue, KIT's staff will share with you their favorite Italian events, places, books, films, concerts, theatre and so on to be found in the NYC area, and NOT TO BE MISSED!!!

  1. FILM: Mafioso by Alberto Lattuada (1962) with Alberto Sordi. A masterpiece about two different sides of the same country, and two different sides of the same man. Now playing at the Angelika Film Center (18 W Houston Street) and at the Lincoln Plaza Cinemas (1886 Broadway at 62nd street);
  2. FILM: Ennio Morricone Retrospective at Film Forum (Houston St. Tel. 12-727 8110). If you have missed the Maestro's Radio City Concert, you can catch up his divine music on screen. Until February 22nd;
  3. EXHIBITION: Athens-Sparta. Olympic Tower (645 Fifth Avenue between 51st and 52nd - Tel. 212-671 5173). On display some of the most beautiful and rare treasures about two of the most powerful cities of the ancient world.
