My Mom laughed when she saw Anna's spelling test. It had words like "tobogganing", "icicle" and "porpoising" all spelled perfectly. "Laura," she said, "when you were that age, you couldn't spell words like 'why' and 'sky." Stop and consider how much children learn each year of life: first they learn to speak, walk and bathe themselves. Then it's shoelaces, swimming, and letters. Then reading, writing and math. In their teens, it gets even more serious: driving, voting, and making a living. And then......

New Alpha Class to Start on Monday
at the Home of Marty and Caroline Miller
Alpha is an opportunity to explore the meaning of life in a relaxed, friendly setting. Many people in our church community have taken the Alpha class and have thoroughly enjoyed the class and friendships they have made. The Bee Creek UMC Alpha Course starts on February 21st and will meet on Monday nights for 10 weeks beginning at 6:00pm and ending by 8:00pm with childcare provided. Each session provides participants the opportunity to enjoy great food, laughter and learning in a fun and friendly atmosphere.

New Mens Group Study Starting Next Week
Wednesday Mornings (6:30 am) beginning 02/23/11
The Men s Group will start a new study on The Purpose-Drive Life by Rick Warren. The study is based on Rick's book of the same title. The first several studies focus on the question "What on earth am I here for?" The Purpose-Drive Life is a manifesto for Christian living in the 21st century...a lifestyle based on eternal purposes, not cultural values.

Mission Trip Opportunity
March 6th - 12th, Harlingen, TX
The Mission Team will be heading to the Valley area. Worthy projects have been set up by the Mission Coordinator in the McAllen District. The mission team will be staying at the First United Methodist Church in Harlingen, Texas.
Are you unable to attend the trip but would still like to help out? The mission team is in need of monetary donations for trip expenses and snacks for team members on their drive to the valley. Please make checks payable to Bee Creek UMC, with "Harlingen Mission Trip" in the memo line.

Making Love Last a Lifetime Study
New Small Group Study Opportunity beginning March 24th
Please join us for a popular small group study, "Making Love Last a Lifetime." This eight-week program explores love, marriage and sexuality from a biblical perspective. It is appropriate for married couples of all ages and stages, as well as for singles who are preparing for marriage or who simply desire to look at scriptural teachings on human sexuality and relationships with the opposite sex.

Fall Registration and Summer Camp
Tuesdays & Thursdays (9 am to 2 pm) Ages 2 to 5 yrs. old
Fall Registration:Open enrollment for the 2011/2012 school year begins on March 1, 2011 for BCUMC members. Bee Loved will open enrollment to the community on March 15, 2011. Please click here for registration forms. Be sure to get your forms in early to ensure your child has a position held for them.
Summer Camp:Bee Loved Preschool will offer two summer camp options this summer. The camp is open for children ages 2 to 5 years old. The camp will run from Monday - Thursday for two weeks. Stay tuned for details on camp themes, cost, and enrollment procedure. Possible New Men's Study
Raising A Modern Day Knight (Targeted for fathers with sons ages yrs. 8 - 18 years old) but open to all men.
Every  man wants to succeed with his son. Every son wants his dad to show the way... to life, to God, to authentic masculinity. And every son wants to connect with his dad's heart, hear his praise, and build lifelong memories.
BCUMC is interested in offering a Raising a Modern Day Knight study if there is enough interest.
"The glory of sons is their fathers." (Proverbs 17:6)
