300 ADDITIONAL LABOUR INSPECTORS APPOINTED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF LABOUR
 
Labour inspectors made surprise visits to 25 companies where notices were issued for various labour law contraventions
.
The Gauteng executive manager of the Department of Labour stated that his 300 newly deployed inspectors issue approximately 100 compliance orders every week. These raids are part of the Department's national programme to conduct ongoing inspections to ensure that employers adhere to labour laws.
 
 
Labour inspection team hits the road again
 
Fresh from hectic blitz inspections in several sectors, the tough-as-nails inspectors of the department of labour will turn their attention to the wholesale and retail trade industry with countrywide weeklong raids to start on April 12.
 
About the Workshop
 
This workshop is designed to help you set up and self-administer an employment equity plan. Covering the Employment Equity Act, and reviewing international equity plans and diversity programmes, this extensive 2 day workshop delivers solid, practical advice to help you through the process. It carefully outlines the roles and responsibilities of the EE Committee.
At the same time this workshop allows you to develop a unique employment equity strategy for your business while also ensuring that it is legally compliant. The implementation of an employment equity programme should and can be an exciting opportunity to examine your business structures, workflow, human resource systems and staffing requirements.

About the Presenter - Sue Krahtz

Sue matriculated from Huggenout High School in 1989 and furthered her education at Technikon Witwatersrand where she obtained a National Diploma in Catering Management. Sue also obtained a Bachelors Degree in Technology and an Advanced Franchise Management Diploma in 2003.  Sue is also a registered Assessor.
 
Sue now consults for Workinfo.com and specializes in Employment Equity training and consulting.  She does most of their training, as well as compiling training manuals.  Sue still consults for the Nandos Group where she does National Training Audits for them as well as Instruction of Assessors.
