State of the Industry Report 2011 Shows Growth for Contract Packaging

The 2011 CPA State of the Contract Packaging Industry Report, available in early November, indicates strong revenue growth for 2011 and continued growth is projected for 2012.  

 

This report is an integral part of the association's ongoing program of giving members a perspective on the complex and evolving contract packaging industry. It is the result of an extensive survey of contract packaging companies, both CPA members and non-members, covering the state of their individual businesses and their view of the state of the industry.

Nulogy CEO Speaks at European Contract Packaging Event
Jason Tham, CEO of CPA Associate Member Nulogy Corporation, spoke at the British Contract Manufacturers and Packers Association (BCMPA) annual summer event on September 14th in Berkwell, UK. Tham provided an overview of the challenges in the industry and highlighted the solutions and trends that are currently seen in the contract manufacturing and packaging marketplace.

Speakers at the Global Pouch Forum discussed how pouches can address the major economic challenges for today's packaging companies: maintaining market share during an economic downturn.

US demand for labels to reach $20 billion in 2015
US label shipments are forecast to rise 4.8 percent annually to $20 billion in 2015. The pressure sensitive segment will continue to dominate output, accounting for more than 70 percent of the total. Although pressure sensitive labels will expand at a healthy rate, they will continue to face growing competition from alternative labeling methods such as stretch sleeve, heat-shrink and in-mold labels.
