Legislative Update on the Coalition On Affordable Housing

S-2974 (Lesniak/Sweeney/Coutinho/Bucco) passed the Senate 34-0 and the Assembly 78-0 and is now before the Governor for his consideration.  This bill extends the moratorium on the 2.5 percent fee on non-residential construction projects for two years (until July 1, 2013). The bill also requires the return of any fees already paid -- provided the funds have not been spent by the municipality on affordable housing projects.
