The IRS and state taxing authorities have become more aggressive with their audit process and more sophisticated in their selection. Audits have become an area of interest for taxing authorities due to the potential uncollected tax revenue. Therefore, the IRS and state authorites have invested heavily in new field agents information technology to conduct better sales. This seminar will cover:
- The need to have organized records that the taxing authorities can rely upon.
- Being aware of industry averages to challenge some of the auditors' assumptions.
- Current guidelines for audits.
- What steps you should take if you have been selected for an audit.

Welcome the Chamber Summer Interns!

The Cape May County Chamber of Commerce is excited to welcome two students participating in the Internship program this summer.
Chris Oney of Cape May is in his last year at the Richard Stockton College of NJ studying Communications. Since 2007, Chris has worked at Driftwood Camping Resort and will continue this summer as their Pool Manager.
Daniel Young of Upper Township is currently in his second year studying Management and Marketing at Georgetown University in Washington D.C. Like many local residents that go away to college, Dan is home for the summer and is also working at Uncle Bill's Pancake House in Ocean City.
Chris and Dan will be working on many upcoming Chamber programs and will be present at many Chamber events. Please take the time to greet our newest interns.
