March 2007

|
Greetings!
NEW is the word for
the upcoming Spring season - new
bike rides, new triathlons and new clothing
lines at Jack and Adam's Bicycles. This
year, in addition to Pearl Izumi, DeSoto, TYR
and Louis Garneau, J & A's
will also have
SheBeest
and Zoot!
These new
digs will look great on at the new
Texas
Tri Series of events and at the
new women's
Double X Tri series.
To help
train for these new events, or to get out
of a
training rut,
try a new training program. We've got
a list
of 'em here in this edition of Chain Links.
And last, but not least, we have a new
vendor
in the parking area
of the shop. Later this month, tempt your
taste buds with a
nutritious and delicious fruit cup from
La
Paletera.
It's the perfect treat after a
long ride or run.

New Ride - Be Kind To Cyclists Ride
Join the Be
Kind to Cyclists team on March 17 for a
16-mile
friendly ride to commemorate all cyclists who
have gotten hurt or killed on the roads and
to thank Jack & Adam?s Bicycles for donating
the new "Please Be Kind to Cyclists" sign,
which will be unveiled during the event.
Mayor Will Wynn, former Mayor Bruce Todd and
possibly some media outlets will attend the
event.
As the weather gets warmer here in Austin,
more cyclists will hit the roads. Be Kind to
Cyclists and Jack and Adam?s hope this ride
will show support for victims? families while
sending the message that motorists and
cyclists need to co-exist and be kind to one
another in order to help prevent future
accidents. Your participation in this ride
will make a difference. Please pass on
information about the ride and bring all your
friends, family and neighbors.
The Please Be Kind to Cyclists awareness
campaign was prompted after Gay Simmons'
tragic accident last year. The March 17 bike
route will pass her memorial at 360, giving
cyclists on the ride an opportunity to pay
their respects.
Date: Saturday, March 17, 2007
Time: 8:00 AM
Location: Start and end at Jack and Adam's
Bicycle.
Free food and drinks will be available after
the ride.
