This week's focus point -
jukebox
Community.

I have a friend who volunteers his time singing with a group that performs for assisted living and nursing home facilities. When he told me that his group would be at my parent's facility, Barb and I decided to go. Turns out the entertainment was a sing-along of a lot of classic country songs like Red River Valley, Jumbalaya, and Happy Trails. A large group of residents came out and we all sang tunes for about 45 minutes. It was uplifting, fun, and full of fellowship.

It was a great reminder for me of the value of community. One of the reasons we moved my parents to a facility like this is so they could become a part of the Liberty Shores community. Makes mo consider my communities - Family, Rotary, Toastmasters, Alan Weiss's Consulting community, church, and the Sons of the American Revolution. You will see in this partial list both personal and professional communities. What communities do you belong to?

"Community" is a powerful human need. We all need to be a contributing part of something bigger than us. Often, we fail to recognize the importance of our contributions to others and what value we receive in return. I encourage you this week to consider all the communities you belong to and what relevance your contributions bring to bear.

This week's quote -"There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle."
- Albert Einstein
