This week's focus point - Change. My parents will be moving into an assisted living facility this week. They've spent the last 8 years in their home near us; the prior 34 years in their home I grew up in. In their married life, they've lived in 4 places. Change can be daunting, scary, and hard. It can also be invigorating. It's a matter of perception. I believe life is fluid. Nothing really is "normal," rather an ever changing reality. For my parents, they have a new reality that sees them still living together and with a new apartment with a water view. For the Seattle Seahawks it's changing the paradigm that a losing team in the regular season can't be a winner in the playoffs. For politicians everywhere, it's the change that you can't just walk into a Safeway store to talk with constituents anymore without bringing an entourage of security. How do you respond to change? Are you one who holds on tight to "normal" with both hands or are you a change leader? Business and life, now more than ever because of technology, is always in change mode. You need to be the speedboat among the tankers, making it possible to maneuver and change speeds as needed. This week's quote -"The key to change is to let go of fear."- Roseanne Cash
