This week's focus point - The greatest athletes in the world all have coaches. Ironic in that they are usually more skilled than their coaches in the game they play, yet they hang on every word and piece of advice. Phil Mickelson listens to his swing coach; Peyton Manning takes criticism from his offensive coordinator; Albert Pujols learns from his hitting instructor; and Kobe Bryant values input from a guy who was a role player in a different position about 40 years ago. If all of these legendary athletes have coaches, why don't all business professionals? I've had a coach or mentor ever since I started my practice 5 years ago. I won't be without one. I'm amazed at the number of entrepreneurs, executives, and business professionals who overlook one of the best best ways to accelerate their growth and career objectives. The reality is that it ends up being an investment in yourself that returns rewards almost immediately. Do yourself a favor. If you are in a leadership, sales or entrepreneurial position in your business career, find someone who can help you enhance what you are already doing. There is no greater measure of self-confidence than to ask for help and guidance. This week's quote -"You can't be brilliant by yourself." - Hall of Fame speaker Patricia Fripp
