You never know what to expect when you start a day.

Last Wednesday when I woke up, I had no idea I would be spending the night in the hospital after an "unscheduled" appendectomy. I had been having issues which I thought were gall bladder related, and as it turns out were linked to the nasty appendix.

Certainly, every "unscheduled" event isn't as serious as a surgery and overnight stay in the hospital. However, we must always be prepared to make swift maneuvers. Think about unforeseen events in your life. Were you prepared to respond to that auto accident, that unexpected comment, or even that new competitor vying for your business? How well you respond to adversity or fortuitous events will almost always dictate your success in business and in life. Make sure you are prepared and ready to respond well.
