This week's focus point - Walking the Talk.
We lost a true hero last week.
Coach John Wooden, arguably the greatest basketball coach of all time, passed away at 99 years of age. This was truly a man who exemplified what it meant to live his values.
His famous Pyramid of Success works not only for basketball, but for business and life, too. His players loved him from the time they played until his death. He was tough, but extremely fair and more concerned about the character of the man, rather than how good a player they were. He believed that the person came first, and the results followed. Something all leaders today can emulate.
If you haven't read his book, They Call Me Coach, I highly recommend it whether you are a basketball fan or not. It will inspire you just like he inspired so many in his life.
We will miss you Coach...
This week's quote -"When you see a successful individual, a champion, you can be very sure that you are looking at an individual who pays great attention to the perfection of the minor details." - John Wooden
This month's quotes will be dedicated to Coach Wooden
