This week's focus point - Make Undesirable Things Fun.
Captain Jack hates his red sweater. I think it makes him feel less manly. I don't blame him.
I hate paying bills and reconciling the bank account. It's something that must be done so if I'm going to do it, I've decided I will at least have fun doing it. When I pay bills and work on the bank account like I did this weekend, I listen to my Frank Sinatra station on Pandora. I guarantee you that even paying bills can be fun while listening to Frank, Ella Fitzgerald, Michael Buble, and Ray Charles.
If you have unpleasant things to do (and we all do), regardless of whether it's at work or at home, find a way to make the time enjoyable. For me, it's music. I will fit the music to the mood I want. Cleaning the office is rock music. Paying the bills is Old Blue Eyes and the gang.
I don't think anything helps Jack with the red sweater, though...
This week's quote -"Don't think that you can make up for it by working twice as hard tomorrow. If you have it within your power to work twice as hard, why aren't you doing it now?" - John Wooden
