This June 11 will be the 31st year that Ancaster celebrates Heritage Days.
There is a sign on Wilson Street saying that the road will be closed from 9am-1pm for the festivities.
I know that this doesn't concern many of you but I don't want anyone driving from out of town to find out that they can't get down Wilson Street.
Cathy will be working that day and should be in the store by 9:45. I have been told that you will be able to get through until 9:40 before they actually close the road.
The parade is usually finished by 11am and I have been informed that my part of Wilson Street should open up then. If the police are still at the intersection of Wilson and Rousseaux then just ask nicely if you can sneak down. Let them know that you are only going 8 houses in.
If you are coming from London/Brantford then I would suggest the following directions - Wilson Street will be a slow go all afternoon.
Instead of exiting at Wilson Street continue along the 403 to the exit for the Lincoln Alexander Parkway. Stay in the far right lane and take the first exit (Golf Links). At the first lights (almost right away) turn right. You are now on Golf Links. At the fifth set of lights turn right. You are now on McNiven. At the next lights turn left. You are now on Rousseaux. At the next lights turn left. You are now on Wilson. We are the 8th house on the left.
Columbus, Ohio
If you are wondering, Cathy is in the store because I will be in Columbus, Ohio at TNNA ordering new yarns, needles, books, bags and accessories for fall.
