The Needle NewsJuly 2010
Greetings!

After a week in Myrtle Beach I am ready for the fall yarns to arrive.  Over the next few weeks we will be receiving many, many boxes of yarn, books, needles, bags, buttons, shawl pins and other things that I have ordered and don't remember.

Until the end of August the store will be a bit of a mess. We are trying to get the new yarns out and we have many boxes of yarn going to the tent sale.

Here are links to our most recent newsletters in case you missed them.

Amazing kits from Denmark

I am working on one of these kits and you can follow the progress on my blog

Many people have mentioned that they thought these shawls and jackets are too hard to knit.  This isn't the case

  1. You are fair isle knitting (carrying the colours as you work) using only two colours in a row.
  2. You are working in the round so every row is knit.
  3. When you are done you are going to cut your work.  This is called Steeking.  I know that this scares knitters but it is easy to do.

When I have my shawl knit and am ready to cut I will be holding an open house in the store.  You can come and watch me cut!!
