Happy June! Plus, win a print by artist Seth!
We're very excited to announce that our Fine Prints series -- wherein we raffle off 10 signed and numbered copies of a print by a graphic novel artist -- continues in June with this gorgeous print by Seth:

The rules are the same as always: Spend $40 at Skylight Books or SkylightBooks.com (for online orders, mention the drawing in the comments field), and get a raffle ticket. We'll raffle off nine prints to raffle ticket holders, and another print to one of our Facebook fans ("attend" the virtual event on our page and we'll hold a separate drawing from the attendees list). The drawings take place June 30 and you don't need to be present to win. Many thanks to Seth for donating this image to our Fine Prints series! Check out his books It's a Good Life If You Don't Weaken and Palookaville in the store. Happy shopping!

Comics:
PAUL MADONNA
| |
Friday, June 3rd at 7:30 pm
Everything Is Its Own Reward (City Lights) Paul Madonna discusses and signs his gorgeous book Everything Is Its Own Reward, the second collection of his long-running San Francisco Chronicle comic strip "All Over Coffee."
"Exquisite... Completely devoid of people but never of life, each panel revolves around a geographical setting, from recognizable landmarks like the Golden Gate Bridge to an anonymous block that's so gorgeously rendered in Madonna's precise yet fluid pen-and-ink style, it feels like it could be anywhere and everywhere. The integration of text--from snippets of fiction and autobiography to single sentences stretching across panels--is as deliberate as the pen strokes and ink washes, and as essential to grasping the complete picture." --Publishers Weekly As a special treat, students from the 826LA zine program will open the event with a 10-minute reading from their work! more info...
