| What is a "Project"?
How it ties in with PositiveWare's 5 Key Concepts |
PositiveWare is based around 5 Key Concepts:
- Clients
- Plans/Projects
- Tasks/Actions
- People & Time
- Budgets
Plans/Projects are self contained packages of work that may include one or more Tasks/ Actions and are aligned to a client. Preparing one of your clients to attend a national conference is a great example of a Plan/Project. Completing this plan may require you to assign several Tasks/Actions to yourself or team members. For instance, special handouts may need to be made, booth logistics may need to figured out, a PowerPoint presentation may need to be created. These Tasks/Actions are all smaller parts of the bigger picture (Plan/Project).
What Plans/Projects Look Like on the Plan Manager Tree.
When a Plan/Project has been created under a client, the title of that Plan/Project will appear to the right of a Yellow Folder. Tasks/Actions that are assigned within the Plan/Project will appear to the right of a dog eared piece of paper.

| What is a "Billable Project"?
How your money is made! |
| Project Billing Support is a fantastic new tool made possible by Release 2.1.8. Project-based billing allows Projects to be billed to Clients individually. Until now, clients could only be billed as part of a Client-level bill.
Creating a Billable Project is simple. When adding a new Plan/Project, enter all information as usual. Next select "Add Billable Plan" to the right in the "What Do You Want To Do?" Box. You will then be prompted to create a Plan/Project Budget.Complete this as you normally would. You will then be returned to the familiar Plan/Project Edit Screen.
What a Billable Project looks like on the Plan Manager. A Billable Project looks very similar to a standard project. The title of the Project will be found to the right of a yellow folder, but one that is Billable will have a green $ symbol on the folder.

| Multiple Timers
The Multitaskers' tool |
|
Switching between several different tasks during the course of a day is a common scenario for many people. However, accurately keeping track of the time spent on each task can be difficult under these circumstances.
The solution is to run multiple timers at once. You can run as many timers as you like simultaneously and need only indicate the active timer for all other timers to be automatically paused.
Starting each timer is simple - use exactly the same procedure as starting one timer.
- Start your first Timer in Time Card, as usual.
- Start you second timer. You will notice that each time you add a new timer it is made active and any other running timers are paused.
-
Continue to start further timers until you have one running for each task you need to track.
-
So far, you have remained on the Time Card screen. However, you are free to move to other sections of PositiveWare - your timers will remain active and visible.
-
You can continue to switch between timers on different screens. Just click the Play icon to activate at timer and pause all other running timers.
-
When you need to stop a timer, just click the Stop icon and follow the same procedures as for a single timer. Each timer will need to be stopped separately.
Please view the online notes, including helpful screen shots, in our User Manual found on our website. To view the Timers section click here.
