Greetings!
Happy New Year. I hope that your year has started with a bang. In spite of all the gloomy talk I keep running into really busy people. I think as a country we have gotten out of the habit of reacting badly when the economy appears to weaken, and this is a good thing, because I think recession is a state of mind.
At PositiveWare this years marks our fifth calendar year of operations, and we see nothing but blue sky ahead. After a lot of investment in budgeting and billing we are turning our attention to making PositiveWare a better tool for bringing together work teams that include clients, employees and contractors in one seamless environment.
Read on to learn more about what we have been up to.

| New Year, New Face!
Enjoy the New PositiveWare.com |
Working with Kelly Korak at Korak Design, we have given the PositiveWare web site a bit of a facelift. While some of the content is still under development, we thought we should get our new look out there.
Functionally the website includes a lot of support resources including the support forum and user guide. We are also working on content about all the different kinds of companies that use PositiveWare to Give Work Meaning.
We have included images that we believe evoke some of humanity's greatest achievements, and show what dedicated teams working together can achieve.
We would love any comments or criticisms.

| PositiveWare Release 2.1.9
Easier Goal Creation and Alignment Reporting
|
Available immediately to all users, the release makes three important additions to the application: · To simplify adding tasks or actions, the convenience of a weekly dropdown was added. No more worrying about dates, just pick the week in which you intend to complete the task. · A goal data type was added. This goal data type, similar to a milestone, allows you to roll up projects and plans to clearly show how they tie to a goal. · An alignment report was added. With the click of a button you can now see how many of your tasks are aligned to any particular goal.
"This release is based directly on the feedback we gave PositiveWare. It is a great enhancement to the application, and makes it even easier to use," said Anthony Thiel, President of Aruba-based Thiel Corporation N.V.
A full description of the release is available here. A video of the release notes is also available via YouTube.

| Airplane Of The Month
Found on our President's wish list |
Just before Christmas a good friend sent me an amazing story about the adventures of one Pan Am Clipper at the onset of WWII.
December 7, 1941...With veteran captain Robert Ford in command, the Pacific Clipper, carrying 12 passengers and a crew of ten was just a few hours from landing in the harbour at Auckland, New Zealand. The calm serenity of the flight deck early on this spring morning was suddenly shattered by the crackling of the radio...Pearl Harbor had been attacked by Japanese war planes and had suffered heavy losses. The Pacific Clipper would be forced to fly around the world, landing in New York some 6 weeks later after logging over 31,500 miles.
As for the Pacific Clipper, four 1,600hp engines propelled it to a cruise of 184 mph with a gross weight of 84,000 lbs. Wow.

| Support The Troops
Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is
|
As we approach six years in Afghanistan and five in Iraq, the strain on the U.S. military is increasing. Regardless of your feelings about these conflicts, the troops involved our doing what has been asked of them, and deserve the admiration and support of all Americans.
A couple of good options for demonstrating support are Fisher House and American Military Family.
