• Proof of residency, including one (1) utility bill (gas, water or electric only) or a Deed or Signed Lease
• Parental photo ID

Registration day is also the time to pay your child's class dues, field trip expenses, purchase the yearbook and spirit wear, and support the Annual Fund.  Total expenses typically total between $90 and $300.   Be prepared that these expenses can add up quickly.  Bring your checkbook, credit card and/or cash.

Don't forget that you can avoid the rush on Registration Day by making your family's contribution to the 2012-2013 Annual Fund before Tuesday, August 7.  By donating early, you are eligible to register your child(ren) at the Early Registration on Tuesday, August 7 from 3 to 5 p.m.  The Annual Fund supports all of the instruction and activities that DeKalb County does not fund.  Donations can be made by giving on-line at www.vanderlynpta.com.

Volunteers Needed for August 8 and 10  

The PTA needs volunteers to help with Open House/Registration Day on Wednesday, August 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Meet the Teacher Day on Friday, August 10 from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

As you know, it takes a lot of volunteers to pull off a successful Registration Day and to ensure our children are ready to go on Monday, August 8 for their first day of school. We have hundreds of students to register, bus routes and carpool numbers to be assigned, committees to be staffed, Spirit Wear to be displayed/sold, etc. WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!    

We need volunteers for the following shifts:

• Wednesday, August 8: Open House/Registration Day   

  8 to 10 a.m.; 10 a.m. to 12 noon; 

  12 noon to 2 p.m.; 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

• Friday, August 10: Class Assignment Distribution

8 to 10 a.m.; 10 a.m. to 12 noon;

12 noon to 2 p.m. 

PLEASE NOTE - Volunteers will be provided an early registration session on Tuesday, August 7 from 3 to 5 p.m. so please plan to come on that day if you are able to help out!

Class Assignments/Meet and Greet

Parents should show ID to pick up their child's class assignment card.

This time will allow you to meet the teacher and to show your student to their classroom. Please bring your school supplies at this time.  The supply lists can be found at www.vanderlyn.com under the Parent Resources tab.

Please come at the appropriate time for your student as listed above.  

Kindergarten Popsicle Social

Calling all incoming Vanderlyn Kindergarten students!  The PTA will host a "popsicle social" on Friday, August 8 from 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.  Please drop by the school before the Social for Meet Your Teacher from 1 to 2 p.m. You can meet your teacher and locate your classroom.  Then, please join us on the front lawn to cool off with a popsicle.  We hope you'll make a new Kindergarten friend before you leave. 

School Supply Lists

School supply lists can be located in the Parent Resources section  on the Vanderlyn School Website, www.vanderlyn.com.  Each student is responsible for purchasing his/her own supplies.  Second through fifth grade students will need to purchase school agendas on Registration/Open House Day, Wednesday, August 8.
