October 2011

Greetings!

Welcome to The Legacy Letter! In an effort to keep you more informed about what's happening in the markets, economy, and world, we have decided to start a monthly newsletter that gives you a better understanding of our perspective and what we believe.
A New Course Ship's Captain

We have talked many times in the past about doing a regular newsletter, but I have to tell you it is a very daunting undertaking to put one's ideas, thoughts, and beliefs in writing.

We would like The Legacy Letter to be informative, discerning, and motivating, but our desire is also to help you understand what motivates us - why we do what we do. You might be interested to know why each of us chose to get into this business and why we all chose to join together in the TEAM we call Legacy Advisors, Inc.

Some articles will be written by us. At other times, we will pass along the opinions of those we lean on for wisdom. In addition to a main article that lays out our position, we will give links to other articles either defending our position or offering an alternative viewpoint. There will a section called "tidbits", where we just throw out interesting facts to make you think!

We want to hear from you, too. Are we covering issues that matter to you? Is there a topic you want to know more about, or something we can do to improve The Legacy Letter? Let us know. Give us a call at (800) 264-8034 or email one of us.

Finally, it is our intent to keep you focused on what's important - not the day to day gyrations of the world markets, but FINANCIAL PLANNING, GOAL SETTING, MONITORING, and ADJUSTING. You must alter your choices when circumstances dictate, but not make financial decisions based on fear or greed. You must stay focused on what you know and what you have the ability to control. The noise of the media so often diverts investors' attention and keeps them shortsighted. That's why we plan to use this venue to keep you informed and focused, expressing our opinions and vision of the future.

It will be interesting as we take on this challenge because, even among the three of us, we sometimes have differing views which you need to hear and understand. Just know that, as we come to our conclusions, we are always doing our best to serve you and your interests in the most simple, direct, and steadfast way.

Thanks for your time and patience as we embark on this new course!
