Local author tops the bestseller lists!
Jennifer Probst has spent years juggling her time between raising two small boys, taking care of her family, and writing the romance novels she's dreamt of authoring since she was 12.
Her efforts have paid off - her latest book, The Marriage Bargain, recently moved 20 spots up to number 39 on the USA Today bestseller list! It's also number 14 on BarnesandNoble.com and 20 on Amazon!
The book, which takes place locally, is about Alexa Maria McKenzie, who casts a love spell to save her family home. In the process she conjures up her best friend's older brother - a powerful man who once broke her heart.
That man is billionaire Nicholas Ryan, who doesn't believe in marriage, but in order to inherit his father's corporation, needs a wife and needs one fast. When he discovers his sister's childhood friend is in dire financial straits, he offers Alexa a bold proposition. Jennifer is now hard at work on the sequel - The Marriage Trap - which should be available this summer. She'll be a featured guest speaker this summer at the library.
Good luck, Jennifer, and congratulations!! |

Research items online, not at Lowe's! In the market for a new refrigerator? Stove?
How about a treadmill? Wrinkle cream? Allergy medicine? All these and more can be researched BEFORE you hit the stores by visiting ConsumerReports.org. Why waste time arguing with your husband at Home Depot when you can do it in the privacy of your computer room? Yes, you do need a subscription for this online magazine, but, thanks to the Wallkill Public Library, it's free! Stop at the circulation desk or call us at 895-3707 and we'll give you the username and password required to gain access to the site. You can even use your home computer! Libraries and baseball...a perfect match! What do libraries and baseball have in common? June 30, 2012! That's right - an enthusiastic group of 22 area libraries and library systems are joining together that Saturday night to blend the sports and library worlds and show that they have a lot more in common with each other than they may initially think. After all, we both have dedicated and supportive audiences; we both have products that inspire and motivate; we both boast generations of loyal fans; and the completion of a game...or a book...can bring whoops of joyful celebrating or the occasional Bronx cheer! Our contingent of merry librarians will descend upon Dutchess Stadium on June 30 with Geek the Library Night - playing off the theme of our successful community awareness campaign,Geek the Library, which is the nationwide campaign underwritten by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to enhance community awareness of public libraries, change the perception of libraries, and encourage ongoing financial support so we can continue meeting community needs into the 21st century. We are planning a lot of fun activities that night, engaging the help of the players, the mascots, and, of course, the fans. There will be games, prizes, and lots of surprises! We want Wallkill Public Library to sell the most tickets and and have the most fans in the stands! Please don't miss out on this opportunity to blend your love of sports and your love of libraries, while helping to raise awareness and funds for us - we guarantee you a great time! Tickets are available NOW by going to www.GadesGroups.com and entering our password - wallpl. Or call Corinne Adams at 845-838-0094, ext. 217 to order directly. Think summer! |
