High School Parents and Students:  On September 6th at 18:30 we are having College Night!  For juniors and seniors this is a very important evening when we will talk about the process for applying to College and University.  We will talk about things like the importance of AP courses, why do I need to take the SAT and/or ACT, how do I apply foir university, what are reference letters for and who should write them, what is UCAS and CommonApp. Along with our Guidance Counselor, Mrs. Cynde Morgan, we will have a parent of an ICSV graduate who has been through the process to give her insights and answer questions.  All high school families are welcome!

 

Special Ticket for students on U-bahn

 

This year, the Wiener Linien (public transport company) offer a new special ticket called Top-Jugendticket for students. Here the details:

 

- ALL students under the age of 24 qualify for a Top-Jugendticket.
- The annual cost for this ticket is €60.
- This ticket is VALID from September 2012 to August 2013.
- With this ticket, students can travel anywhere in Vienna (U-Bahn, Bus) or Niederösterreich and Burgenland (ÖBB S-Bahns and trains).
- In order for this ticket to be valid, students must show an Austrian school ID ("Schülerausweis") that shows their current address. ICSV Students will receive the school ID card when we take the school photos in September. There will be a grace period because most students do not yet have this form of ID.

Buying your ticket online will enable you to simply re-print the ticket in the case of loss or theft.

 

If you do not choose to purchase this type of ticket, there is another, cheaper option, but it is ONLY VALID FROM HOME TO SCHOOL AND BACK. It is called a Jugendticket and costs €19.60 per school year. You may also purchase it at the Wiener Linien Online-Shop at http://shop.wienerlinien.at/index.php/product/166/show/0/0/0/0

 

Also, students under the age of 24 ride for FREE during Austrian holidays and on Sundays.
